Our research focuses on studying the cellular interactions between the nervous system and the immune system during development, following injury, and regulating repair. Areas of focus include: central nervous system immune responses following injury, intracellular signaling and epigenetic mechanisms underlying immune and nervous system interactions during development and following injury, and cellular effects of antiretroviral nanoparticles on immune cell and nervous system cell physiology.
