Courses Offered

  • BIO 317 - Genetics

Research Interests

  • The regulation of the protein TIMP-1 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1), a known growth factor with neuroprotective properties
  • Delineating signaling pathways and TIMP-1 promoter elements involved in astrocyte TIMP-1 downregulation to determine how/why this neuroprotective response fails during neuroinflammatory disease
