Major Improvements/Changes:
- A new version of the image handling add-on (supplied by a
third party) allows basic control of image brightness and
contrast. A button in the Image window
labeled Bright/Con now allows the
adjustment of these attributes.
Important - Because of this change in the
add-on, Didge must be reinstalled rather then the executable
simply copied over. (Unfortunately, Microsoft's install
program does not include an easy "update" method.)
Please follow these steps:
- Go to Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs and select
Didge as the program to remove. You will need to
confirm the removal procedure.
- Install the new version of Didge using the
accomanying setup program.
You should find that all your previous settings are
preserved despite the uninstall!
Minor Improvements/Changes:
- The locations of the Set Aspect and Set
Scale buttons have been switched.
- Rearranged some of the items in the Popup menu
of the Image window.
- The layout and phrasings in the Image Options
portion of the Setup window have been
changed.
- Format files can now be loaded from the Setup
window as well as the Datasheet window.
- In Multiple Frame mode, frame "A"
becomes the active frame when a new image stack selected.
- In Segments mode, the X/Y readout in the
Coordinates pane to now reports the
postion of the constrained point, not the mouse.
- In the Datasheet window, Undo
now works on the User Note text, and
more editing actions on the datasheet itself
are undoable.
- The Correct for image "bounce"
function now shifts the image within the Image
pane so that the viewed image stays stationary (assuming
the X and Y bounce correction values are correct).
- "Save As" now displays the current filename (if
extant).
- Optionally, the image file will move within the Image
pane to reveal the active frame if that frame
was fully or partly hidden.
Bug fixes:
- Didge no longer crashes if the Segments option is chosen
when the Number of Points is 1.
- The Frame Number scroll bar in the Image
window is now hidden if the Different views
option is selected.
- Fixed a problem with the Redraw function
occuring when the Different views option
was active - points that should have
been in the second frame were in the first or vice-versa.
- When loading file from versions prior to 2.0, User
Note text is now cleared.
- Cutting a row of data no longer changes the active row to
1.
- The X bounce and Y bounce
entry boxes are now deactivated whenever the Image
Bounce section is deactivated.
- In Segements mode, the constrained
digitizing point sometimes appeared to shift slightly
when set by clicking the mouse. This no longer occurs.
- Pasting into the User Note box no longer
pastes into the spreadsheet instead.
- Undo isn't disabled after a "copy"
done.
- Pixels between each frame can now be set
to zero under Digitizing Variables.
- Pixels between each frame are now
restricted to integer values.
- Choosing "No" from the "Delete Data Row...?"
prompt now cancels the delete!
2.1 Beta 1 (released to NAU only)
Major Improvements/Changes:
- Didge can now handle more than two frames per image file,
to support video systems that display three or more time
frames when viewed/downloaded using a standard VCR.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed startup bug - Didge crashed if the number of
digitizing points was 1.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug introduced in beta 5 in which changing the
number of data points in the Setup
window did not change the number of data columns.
Improvements/Changes:
- Added information to help file about keyboard controls
during digitizing (see Function
Buttons - Digitize).
- Added a button near the Data Row Control,
allowing the Lock data row to image number
option to be turned on or off from the Image
window.
- Added a "secret" procedure to allow Didge to
calculate user-defined segment lengths from coordinates
in a selected data row. Read more about this in the Segment Type entry of
the Main Help file for more information.
- Any digitized points are now redrawn if the Zoom
Factor control is changed.
- Attempting to load a bad image file now results in a more
specific error message.
- Didge now performs better checking for bad or incorrect Format
files.
- ".csv" now appended to filename if no extension
supplied by user
- The Image Number control on the Image
window is now reset to 1 if the Setup
window's Image Selection File List changes.
- In the Additional data information pane
of the Image window, the text "Image
X of Y images" now displays simply
as "Image X of Y".
Bug fixes:
- Comment column now removed when "Include comment
column" deselected in Setup window (after
confirmation dialog).
- Items in the Datasheet window Edit
menu pertaining to the Comment Column
are now deactivated if no comment column is present in
the datasheet.
- User-defined segment lengths are now normalized
automatically when exiting the Setup
window.
- User-defined segment lengths no longer intially appear as
all zeros.
- Choosing Clear All from the File
menu in Datasheet window now
automatically sets Image Selection to Manual.
- The "Done?..." prompt at the end of each
digitizing run now always appears within the visible
portion of the image.
- The Lock data row to image number option
no longer defaults to unselected when a new Format
file is loaded or when the Clear All
menu command is selected.
- The Datasheet now returns to the last
active row after when exiting the Setup
window. (Active row used to be changed to 1 when exiting Setup).
- The Datasheet now retains any changes to
column width made by the user when exiting the Setup
window. (Column widths were being reset to default values
when exiting Setup).
- In the Setup window's Digitizing
mode tab, the Segmentation table edit
box now appears deactivated when Data
Type is set to Points.
- The text "--> 1" no longer appears in the Datasheet
edit box when one of the Clear...
menu items is chosen.
- Choosing Cancel in the Comment
prompt no longer deletes an existing comment in
that datarow.
- A bug resulting in false "Data not saved"
messages when replacing/clearing an open file or exiting
the program may have been fixed (only time will tell).
Improvements/Changes:
- Clicking the area between the scroll box and scroll arrow
in the Image Number and Data Row
scrollbars now changes the value by 5.
Bug fixes:
points so that points are "erased" if user
skips back to a previous point.
- Undo routine now uses Digitizing rather
than Redraw point color if called by the program rather
than by the user.
- Fixed error which caused the Split Image Division
Location to be reset to the default value every
time the Setup window opened when split
images were separated in space.
- Line connecting last digitized point to cursor is now the
color selected in Point and Line Options
- Fixed error which sometimes caused autosave (and possibly
user save) to have problems with the pathname when
writing the file.
First public release.
- Allow user to define segment lengths by marking points on
an image - Currently crudely implemented.
- Add the option to automatically load a specified format
file on startup.
- Finish Glossary
