Introduces the conceptual bases of biology and presents in detail the molecular and cellular aspects of metabolism, genetics, and development. Course includes lecture and laboratory.

The prerequisite for BIO 211 is a one-year high-school chemistry course of sufficient depth and rigor to enable the student to participate in the study of the molecular aspects of biology.
