“If it's green or wriggles, it's biology. If it stinks, it's chemistry. If it doesn't work, it's physics. ” — Handy Guide to Science
A select group of undergraduates (usually juniors and seniors) have the opportunity to become undergraduate teaching assistants in General Biology and upper division laboratories. TA’s work closely with faculty supervisors in planning and executing laboratory sessions. All TA’s must register for BIO 490 for each course they teach; students with two or more BIO 490 registrations can apply this credit towards one of the Biology major's laboratory requirements. TA’s also receive a stipend.
Applications for teaching assistants are accepted online towards the end of each fall and spring semester. Announcements are posted around the department and online a few weeks before the application deadline.
